Flint, MI attorney Scott Stensaas has a private law practice focusing on real estate law, business organization and buy-sells; debtor creditor law including bankruptcy; estate planning including wills, trusts and probate estates; and civil litigation. His legal services include litigation prosecution and defense, administrative agency advocacy, entity organization, preparation of business contracts, transaction documents and closings, revocable living trusts, wills, financial and health care powers of attorney. Mr. Stensaas graduated with his Bachelors of Business Administration, with high distinction in 1974 from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration. He received his JD, Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1980. After graduation, Scott worked for the Michigan Migrant Legal Assistance Project for four years advocating for and representing migrant farm workers in judicial and administrative proceedings. He also worked for a variety of different law firms including Winegarden, Haley, Lindholm & Robertson, PLC; Spender & Robb, P.C., and served as in-house corporate counsel with QuickTracker Management, Inc., before starting his own private law practice in 1993. Scott is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan as a 30 year member of the Michigan Bar Association. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Stensaas is an Approved Civil Mediator in the 7th Circuit Court for Genesee County and for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also is a member of the Michigan Bar Association Probate Law Section; a member of Genesee County Bar Association; Past Chairperson of Bankruptcy Law Committee and a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Scott also serves on non-profit boards including the Friends of Formar, a citizen support group for the Formar Nature Preserve and Arboretum, a public nature preserve operated by the Genesee County Parks Department, and the Kearsley Manor board, a non-profit senior citizens housing development. For many years he volunteered as an AYSO soccer coach and referee and he is an active long time member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint. |
